Top 12 Favorite Food Finds from Trader Joe’s!

After changing my lifestyle almost one year ago, I discovered the glorious, the amazing Trader Joe’s. In the past, I would pop in for random items, but with a new lifestyle, comes new choices and I was amazed at what Trader Joe’s has to offer. I’ll be honest I loathe food shopping! I hate it so much! BUT – I actually look forward to my weekly runs to Trader Joe’s. Over time, I’ve discovered some delicious snacks and miscellaneous ingredients that make clean eating simple! So I’m going to change it up a bit… we’re not going to talk about makeup, hair, or fashion… no, no… Here are my Top 12 Favorite Food Finds from Trader Joe’s!

Just Mango Slices

I may be able to just stop right here, because my love for this snack is powerful. No additives, no preservatives, no colors, these mango slices are absolutely delicious. I usually buy about 10 bags at a time because I go through them so quickly! A little embarrassing moment… a few weeks ago, I went to TJ’s and needed some of these and they were sold out! I literally stood in the isle heartbroken. I’ve tried a few of their other dried fruits, and while they were tasty, nothing compared to my glorious mangoes!

72% Cacoa Dark Chocolate

I am a big dark chocolate fan, but I don’t know what it is, this is the best dark chocolate I’ve ever had! It’s not overly bitter, it melts in your mouth, and it’s just delicious! What more can you say about chocolate? I buy this in bulk also and keep it in the fridge. Surprisingly, I’m not overly addicted to it, as I take two small pieces from the row and that’s enough to keep me satisfied! Wow… I have REALLY changed!!!

Reduced Guilt Chunky Guacamole

Guacamole is my weakness! You could put bowls and bowls in front of me and I’ll eat it all up. And so why is this Reduced Guilt version so special, you may ask? It’s made with Greek Yogurt! My mother told me about this and I wasn’t sure how I would feel about it, but it’s so good! I usually buy two or three containers at a time!

Vegan Kale Cashew Basil Pesto

I’ll be honest… I was a little iffy about this one, but when I tried it, it was super yummy! Be warned, for 1/4 cup, it’s 180 calories, so it’s not super low on the caloric scale. Obviously – it’s because of the cashews, but it’s so worth it! I made some extra whole wheat pasta one night and didn’t want to throw it away, so I mixed in some of this pesto and ate it cold the next day. It was absolutely delicious and quite a good find!

In Shell Pumpkin Seeds

During the Fall, I went through an obnoxious stage where I carried around a ziplock bag full of these pumpkin seeds. I would try and stay within the serving size, but they’re just so addicting. I remember, during my trip to Lake George, I would constantly offer the seeds to my sister, and she would laugh and be like “Enough with the damn pumpkin seeds!” Then… behold… she tried a handful and loved them. She even kept asking for more! BOOYA! And apparently, Pumpkin Seeds can be quite good for you, so win/win!

Roasted Cocoa Nibs

Okay – so I honestly don’t like eating these on their own, as they’re a tad bitter. So if you’re gonna try this, be warned! However, mixing it into yogurt, smoothies, etc. is soooo good! I love making Cookie Dough Overnight Oats (not really cookie dough… check out the recipe here!), and I throw in some cocoa nibs. It gives the oatmeal a crunchy texture and makes the recipe all the better!

Pitted Dark Sweet Cherries

I have become obsessed with smoothies! I try and keep them under 500 calories between the fruits, protein powder, etc and I like making them extra delicious. With that, I loooove adding these Pitted Dark Sweet Cherries. I have even used them to make a cherry syrup for overnight oats and… well… I just love them!

Trail Mix – Almonds, Cashews & Chocolate

I loooove any type of trail mix that incorporates nuts and chocolate. Yuuuuuummmyy!!!! However, let’s face it, with nuts, it’s always so easy to go overboard. Not only does this mix taste delicious, but the fact that it’s individually packaged, just makes it so much easier to keep track.

Very Cherry Berry Blend

Okay – so for the past few weeks, I thought this was new at TJ’s, but I just learned it’s been out since 2013. Apparently, my location just got them and stock and I’m so damn happy! I am obsessed with berries! I eat blueberries and raspberries every single day and look forward to it. This mixture of all my favorite fruits is just divine! My smoothies have been better than ever, and I even got my husband addicted!

Roasted Corn

I love making chicken dishes. There are so many great recipes out there and they’re incomplete without a good side. I don’t know why, but I don’t put much thought or effort into my side dishes and that gets annoying. I just want something simple and ready to go! Trader Joe’s roasted corn is soooo delicious! If I remember correctly, I add a very little bit of butter (I know there is always a healthier substitute to that), and some salt and it ‘s just so good. If it’s quick and easy, I’m happy!

Cauliflower Pizza Crust

I was quite skeptical about this baby at first. As a hardcore pizza lover, I thought this was a little out there. Seeing all the rage, I decided to give it a try and I am so glad I did! I add my own homemade tomato sauce, some fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and olives and it’s one of my favorite dinners! The only thing I have issues with sometimes is getting the crust nice and crispy. It seems to be a hit or miss each time. Either way, it always tastes great!

Organic Cauliflower Rice

Speaking of cauliflower, this is a great find and perfect to make as a quick side to your entree! If you go onto Pinterest, you could find lots of recipes to make cauliflower rice. The options are endless. If I recall, I made this rice and added some lime with a few other yummy ingredients and it was so good!

So I think that’s it! There’s lots more to love, like TJ’s Pumpkin O’s and Pumpkin Spice Coffee, but since that’s limited edition, I didn’t want to include it here. I love how Trader Joe’s gives us some goodies each season and their selection is just wonderful! I always go in for two things and end up leaving $100 later, but I get a lot of groceries for the money! Before my love became real for TJ’s, I thought it was a pricey place (come on… healthy foods and organic items are not always reasonable), but I was proven wrong! Are you addicted to TJ’s like me?
