December Faves – Part 2

So here we go with round two! As mentioned in my first December Faves, I had so many new or re-discovered products I wanted to mention, that for the first time ever, I had to break it up into two different posts! I’m really excited to talk about seven more of my favorites from last month, so let’s just jump right in!

Paula’s Choice Radiance Renewal Mask

I wrote up a review on this product yesterday, so you can check out more details there, but I just need to mention again how much I love this mask! This is a gel-like mask that you apply just before bed. At first, I was a little turned off because I thought it was going to be sticky, but it dried nicely. With the overnight masks that I’ve tried, it never feels like I have a “mask” on my face. When this dries, you can actually feel that it’s still on and that your face feels cool and smooth, but it’s comfortable. In the morning, I wash it off and a brighter complexion is revealed! My skin is left feeling soft and smooth to start off the day!

L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara

This has been one of my favorite mascaras for years now. I even still keep a few in my kit to use on my clients. However, with so many other high end and drugstore mascaras hitting the market, I’m always trying new products. This mascara sort of got pushed to the side, and even though it was always a favorite of mine, I really did forget how wonderful it really was! This is the blackest mascara I’ve ever used and it makes my lashes look dramatic and full, without it looking overdone.

Jouer Ice Mini Powder Highlighter

I am hoping that Jouer makes a full size version of this highlighter because I’m in love! I have a load of highlighters that I use all the time and think they’re beautiful, but this one has to be my current favorite (and I think it will be that way for awhile). This powder has ultra-fine pearls and luminescent pigments create the ultimate glow with a radiant finish. In the pan, it looks a bit white, but once applied, it’s a shimmering pearl with gold reflect. It applies so smoothly and really adds so much to every look.

Milani Stay Put Brow Color

For years, I wore brow powder, but after using brow pomades and gels, there is no way that I’m going back to anything else. I’ve used a few pomades in the past and always loved them, but the Milani brow colors is a game changer! Once applied, this brow color stays put all day and provides high color impact with superior blendability. Because it is reasonably priced, I actually have two different shades that I use in attempt to create a more natural brow. I use a darker shade on the bottom, and a lighter shade on the top.

Makeup Geek Contour Powder Pan in Love Triangle

While sitting outside around the fire pit on Thanksgiving, I saw that Makeup Geek was having a huge sale. The contour powders that I’ve been wanting to try for awhile were on sale and I got all 8 for only $35! I bought it right then and there. While all the powders are amazing, I’ve become obsessed with the shade, Love Triangle. This is Makeup Geek’s Warm Porcelain shade, and on my fair skin, it looks very natural. I don’t like doing overly harsh contours, so this shade is perfect, but when I want to amp it up a little bit more, I add a little bit of Bad Habit.

Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger Shine Spray

Every time I get my hair done, my friend/hairdresser always uses this product. I always comment how wonderful it smells and well, it always makes my hair look super shiny. Since it was a Treat Yo Self type of day, I decided to buy it at the salon and I’ve been using it with every blowout since! This lightweight mist makes my hair shine beautifully without weighing it down. After I blowout my hair, I hold the can far from my hair and lightly mist on the ends. It really completes the process and makes my hair look unbelievably healthy!

Sephora Collection Color Switch by Vera Mona Brush Cleaner

This is one of those items that I’ve seen for years and wondered “So does it really work?” I can’t remember what it was that finally got me to cave and buy it, but I’m so glad I did because I love it so much! I’m just going to admit right now that I don’t wash my brushes as much as I should. Foundation brushes, I clean often, but eye brushes, not so much. I’ll usually use a spot cleaning spray, rather than a deep clean. But I only use them on me, so whatever. I use a lot of browns and while I have tons of brushes, I often like to use the same brush throughout the blending process. With just a few swirls my brushes look cleaner and I’m able to use them over and over without powder build up! I really do love this product so much, and I need to buy another one to use with clients!

Well – there you have it! Two December Faves posts in the book! I really love all the products from this month and had so much fun trying new items! Here’s to a fantastic 2017 and more amazing discoveries.
