Happy, Happy New Year!!! I hope you all had an amazing holiday season! Mine was so amazing! I really look the time for myself, recharged, organized my life, and it feels fantastic! It’s rough getting back into routine, but that’s life! 2017 is here, and I’m going to be optimistic and say that it’s going to be fantastic year! I’m going to be 30 in under two weeks, so it’s time for bigger and better things! December was a fantastic month for discovering new and incredible products. It was s great that for the first time I a publishing TWO posts to accommodate all these products! I really had trouble narrowing it down, so why not have a little fun and talk about all the amazing products I got to try!
Okay – so it’s funny we start out this way, because this isn’t a new product for me.. it’s an oldie but goodie! I stopped using liquid liners for awhile and fell in love with felt tip liners, but it’s time to go back to basics! There is something about a good liquid liner that makes life good again! This liner applies dark right off the bat, and so smoothly! I’m able to create an extremely precise wing, and so quickly! Like all liquid liners, I have my days where I can’t seem to get it right. When in double, I bring out the felt tip liners to help me with the sharp wing, but I haven’t really had any issues recently.
Skin care is a big deal for me lately, and I’m really trying hard to develop a steady regimen. Throughout my quest to find the best skin care products for my routing, I’ve discovered that this toner right here is a must have! I’ve recently discovered Paula’s Choice and have been very fortunate enough to work with them and review their products. They sent me a bunch of items to review, this being one of them. Just before I used it, I saw Christina Zilber (founder of Jouer) use this on her Snap Chat as part of her daily regimen. I was so excited that I had this waiting for me to use because Christina is beautiful and her skin always looks unbelievably flawless. I’ll admit, I was a little intimidated by this product at first because the name sounds so scientific. Being I’m only getting more into skin care recently, I really didn’t know what 2% BHA was (go read about it on their site if you’re not sure). After seeing how Christina uses it, I put a little bit on a cotton round and WOW! This liquid exfoliant glides over the skin, leaving behind a very hydrating sheen, that’s not filmy, heavy, or oily, but refreshing. After doing all the right things to clean my skin, I couldn’t believe how much more dirt appeared on the cotton round. I was stunned! This product doesn’t seem to strip the skin of any hydration, and I swear when I woke up the next morning after first use, my skin was brighter and felt healthier. I think this is the longest I’ve ever spoken about a monthly fave, but it’s seriously amazing!
So I wasn’t planning on indulging in this product, but after seeing lots about it, I had to. I mean – “Unicorn Tears”…. come on… how could you not be curious? This product is a primer serum that makes the skin feel wonderful before makeup application. It has a very strong floral scent, which I don’t mind, but some may be a bit turned off by it. A little bit goes a very long way and helps makeup adhere to the skin, but can we talk about the pink, glittery serum? It’s so pretty! The glitter does not transfer, but it sure if fun to work with! While the Unicorn Tears itself was limited edition, Farsali is working on giving us a permanent version, using the same formula, but with a different name and scent.
One day, I walked into Sephora and asked for a sample of this foundation. I’ve seen Marlena from Makeup Geek talk about it in several videos, so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Well – the little amount that Sephora gave me lasted for several uses and a very little bit goes a long way and gives ultimate full coverage. After I ran out of the foundation, I couldn’t seem to let go, as no other foundation lived up to what Re(marc)able did for me, not even the foundation that I used every single day for months! I had to indulge because even though this is a bit pricey, it’s going to last me forever, because a few little dots covers so much! My skin looks flawless, and the foundation doesn’t fade or move! It dries so quickly, but doesn’t make my skin look for feel flaky. I’m such a big fan, I don’t know if I’ll ever find another foundation quite like this!
I’m not sure where this powder came from, but I feel like it appeared overnight! I saw articles about it, beauty influencers swimming in this stuff, so for $12, I had to try it! While the packaging sucks big time (the ground pepper in my kitchen is in the same dang container), the powder is wonderful. I use it for baking, and it sits on the skin perfectly, gives skin and airbrushed finish when blended, and I honestly don’t experience as much of a mess considering it’s a loose powder. Apparently, this baby is a cult classic, and after using it a few times this past month, I can see why. If you hate the packaging as much as I do, transfer it into a different container. I had an empty Coty Airspun container laying around, so I made sure to clean it really good and put the powder in there. Works so much better that way!
This was my go-to liquid lipstick in the beginning of the month! I say the beginning because the second half of the month, I was on vacation and didn’t wear much makeup. I’ve discovered that Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks are amazing. I’ve tried Hoe Hoe Hoe last year, and while it’s super pretty, I didn’t love the formula because it contained a bit of glitter. Now that I’ve tried his original formula, I can’t get enough. Not only are the colors gorgeous, but the applicator is the best one I’ve used! Designer Blood is a dark rusty red, and when it dries, it contains a gold sheen which is very unique. Another reason this shade is such a big hit for me is because the swatch video I posted on Instagram went over extremely well! So well, that Jeffree Star himself shared it on his page and it’s received over a half million views! I can’t tell you how excited I was when I saw that! I’m still psyched over the whole thing!
I’m a highlighter addict. I have tons of highlighters and I just love to glow! I’ve had the same highlighter brush for awhile now, but received the M510 in my #MorpheMe Subscription while back. I’ve used it here and there for highlighting my cupids bow, but decided to try it on my cheekbones. Well…. my glow has been on point because of this brush right here! The long bristles and dome tip helps diffuse and blend color while also providing a precise application. It’s seriously the best!
I would usually say that’s it, but it’s not! Stay tuned for Part 2!!!
