August Faves

I don’t know about you, but I’m thrilled that it’s September! We are close to Fall… YAY!!! While I am so happy that the Summer is finally coming to an end (I loathe the heat), August was a great month for discovering some new products. I treated myself this month to some new products and I’m glad I did because I had a blast trying new things! Some of these products are new, while others have been items that I’ve grown to love. And one is an oldie, but goodie! So here we go! Let’s jump into my August Faves!

Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer

I am a HUGE fan of the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation. It’s been my favorite foundation for awhile now and probably the only high-end foundation that I’ve repurchased a whole bunch of times. So when I heard about the Born This Way Concealer, I knew I had to have it! I did review this product earlier in the Summer, so you can check out my review here, but it’s such a fantastic product! It’s extremely lightweight, provides great coverage, and doesn’t crease. It dries quickly and gives my eyes a natural glow that makes me look awake!

Too Faced x NikkieTutorials The Power of Makeup Palette

While I am a huge NikkieTutorials fan and wanted this palette, I had that traditionally debate with myself… did I really need this palette? Well it came down to yes… I needed it! And I’m glad that I got my hands on it before it sold out at Sephora and Ulta. I reviewed this palette already, so you can check out all the details here, but this palette has everything. I like all the other goodies that come with the collection, but my main focus is this palette. It has all the shades I need to create my traditional eye look, as well as blushes, bronzer, and a highlighter. If I need to travel and pack makeup, this is literally the only thing I need to pack! It’s so convienent, the shades are lovely, and I’m so happy I got it.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Moon Child Glow Kit

Ever have the fantasy that you’re a unicorn or a mermaid? Well – you can be close to one with highlighters from this kit. I had a debate with myself about this product too, but I was eager to try it! I also reviewed this product, so you can check out more details and swatches here, but I still can’t get over the beauty of this palette! Each shade is absolutely stunning and unique and makes me glow like I’ve never glowed before. No photo can do these shades justice, as they’re so beautiful, pigmented, and unbelievably smooth!

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Telepathy

So I never thought I wanted this shade, as it looked very yellow, but when I saw it discounted during ColourPop’s 20% off sale in celebration of hitting 3-million on Instagram, I figured I would give it a shot. Afterall, half the shades I own from ColourPop are ones that are beautiful, but I may not necessarily wear. Anyways, after receiving this shadow, I was kicking myself for not getting it sooner. Yes – it’s yellow, but it’s more of a bright golden yellow with an intense metallic finish! I can’t get over how gorgeous it is and when I wear it, people notice, and compliment me, no less! I’ve been wearing it on my lids a lot and it really glams up my traditional, everyday look!

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water & Makeup Remover

For a long time, I used the Bioderma makeup remover. And I’ll still stand by the product and tell you how amazing it is! However, it is on the pricier side. Is it worth it? Yes – every freakin’ penny! But I really wanted to find a product that did just as well, but for a much more reasonable price! Well – I discovered the Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water and it’s amazing! It takes a tad more effort to remove makeup compared to my beloved Bioderma, but I have no complaints as it’s just as good and for more than half the price! I tried the Waterproof version, and it was good, but the original is best!

GLAMGLOW GLOWSTARTER Mega Illuminating Moisturizer

These days, I have to glow all the freakin’ time! My highlighter has to be so bright, you need sunglasses! I love it! I don’t care how much I put on and how many different shades I layer to get the most intense glow, but I’m obsessed. So when I kept hearing about the GLAMGLOW Mega Illuminating Moisturizer, I had to give it a try. Yes – it’s a tad pricey, but August was my “Treat Yo Self” month (and I regret NOTHING!) I also reviewed this product recently, so you can check out my full review here, but in short, this stuff literally glow in a jar! Not only has this moisturizer given my skin a constant, healthy glow, but it smells like creamsicles, and well… that’s just awesome!

Foreo LUNA

An oldie, but goodie, indeed! I just checked my blog and noticed that I named this in my 2015 August Faves! Guess it’s tradition to do that now! Oh, the irony! Anyway… I’ve been really trying to get back into a good skin care routine. I got kind of lazy, and it started to show. Besides investing in some good products to get my skin back on track, I recharged my Foreo LUNA, which I haven’t used in months, and decided to give it a try again! I reviewed this skin care tool well over a year ago, so you can check out my full review, but with just a few uses, I’ve noticed my skin change dramatically. Besides the use of new and better products, my skin is super smooth, looks brighter, and overall, so much healthier! It’s amazing, and the fact that I was able to just charge it without spending money on brushes, etc., is just awesome!

So there you have it! I think it was a good month, don’t you? I really decided to have fun this month and try a bunch of new products. I’m still in the process of trying a few things out, so I think that September is going to be a fun month too! Stay tuned!
