Only until recently, I felt a bit awkward about liquid highlighter. How do I use it? What do I use to apply it with? To me...it was too much thought and I couldn't be bothered. With the right tools, liquid is truly the way to go if you want a glowing appearance. The NYX Born to Glow Illuminator is meant to give you a "healthy goddess glow", and it does just that!
NYX Born to Glow Illuminator comes in Sunbeam, a gorgeous pale pink pearl shade; and Gleam, a golden peach pearl. In this blog post, I am featuring Gleam, but let me set the record straight and admit that I will be picking up Sunbeam as soon as I see it in stores! I saw Sunbeam when I was at the NYX Cosmetics Spring 2013 Launch Event and I need it in my life!
The texture of this product is cream, lightweight and dries beautifully, giving you a glowing finish. I personally like to take the product, squeeze some onto the back on my hand and apply it with a beauty blender to my cheek bones, forehead and chin. You can also use a duo-fibre brush, like the Sigma Beauty, F55 Small Duo Fibre Brush, which would be my second choice. I have yet to try this techquiqe, but I think that during the Summertime, mixing a bit of this liquid illuminator with your liquid foundation will make your skin look amazing! Hmmm...perhaps I will try that this weekend!
I just love how my cheeks glow!
I didn't apply much, but just enough to make my skin look healthy!
Bottom line...I love this stuff! I usually use powder highlighters, but if you are truly opting for a dewy glow, then a product like this one is your best bet. If I get Sunbeam, I will let you know what I think, but judging by how much I am enjoying this product, I am sure that my thoughts will remain the same.
Have you tried the NYX Cosmetics Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator?
What is your favorite highlighter (liquid OR powder)?

I have never tried Nyx products. I remember years ago I used an Illuminator from VS. I mostly use powdered ones. I love a nice glow. I will be checking this out so thanks for this post.
ReplyDeleteYou're most welcome :)
DeleteI never thought about applying liquid highlighter with my beauty blender, but that makes a lot of sense! I have Benefit Moon Beam so I'm going to try that out :) This NYX one looks gorgeous though!

DeleteThis stuff looks amazing! Another item for my spring wishlist :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome!!!
DeleteI wanntttttt!!! I've used cream bases in the past (MAC shell) & a lot of powders lately, but I haven't found anything that really gives me the glow I want. This looks PERFECT!
ReplyDeleteTry this! It is so reasonable too. Even if you don't like it you wouldnt have put out a lot of money for it. Thats the best part! :)
DeleteThe highlight looks gorgeous on you! I wish I could liquid ones but the can make look oily and shiny the wrong way lol... Not a fan of powder ones.. Maybe i need to try some good one , any ideas?
ReplyDeleteI dont find this highlighter makes my skin greasy. But the Benefit High Beam is great and mac powders are always very lightweight. hope this helps!
