On Sunday, October 21, over 10,000 people gathered at the New Overpeck Park in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey to Make Strides Against Breast Cancer! Out of the thousands of individuals, my team, Team Lori Ann, gathered once again to walk proud and fight for a cure!
The weather was absolutely perfect, the crowd was smiling and there was practically a sea of pink spread over the park!

Each year, in honor of
my Aunt Lori, who passed from Breast Cancer in 2006, my family and close friends have gathered since 2007, and raised thousands of
dollars for Breast Cancer Awareness. It has been amazing to see so
many come together, all have been touched by Breast Cancer, to walk, to
support and to find hope! The day of the walk is bittersweet as individuals
share their stories yet providing inspriation to
all.

This year was a little different and instead of the survivors leading the crowd, they paraded on the path and was cheered on my other walkers! In the parade was my mother-in-law, Nancy, who was proudly marching, Breast Cancer free for 10 years! As I looked across the crowd at my husband who was filled with joy to see his mother walk in that line, I was reminded once again, why we do this every year!

her 10 years cancer free!
Hopefully one day, these walks will be obsolete because when that happens, it means that after all these years, we have found a cure!

(In 2009, we had
a Nor'easter! It was amazing to see people still show up show their support no
matter how bad it was! Let me explain this photo a bit. My mother {left} broke
her leg a few weeks prior to the walk, so we had to wheel her around...up
hill...in the mud...it was interesting LOL)
