Beauty Army Kit - August 2012

You may have noticed last month I didn’t do a review on my Beauty Army Kit subscription.  Unfortunately, last month, I wasn’t too pleased with my selections.  I think they may be kicking off Beauty Army Kits for men and I was offered mainly choices of men’s products.  If I knew my husband would use the samples, I would have gotten it, but I highly doubt that he would have used them, therefore I opted to skip a month.  Luckily, this month, I found a few products that I wanted to try, so I made my six selections, and received my box last week.  I was a tad disappointed with how long it took to get.  Usually I get it at the end of the month, but this time I got it into September.  I didn’t get a chance to review the products in depth over time, as I wanted to get my August review out before I got my other September beauty subscriptions.  Want to know what I thought of this month?  Well, keep reading!  Enjoy!!!

I was a little confused with this mask.  Not sure if I was trying it while I was tired or something, but I was a bit puzzled with the directions, so I made my own directions.  I combined the powder substance, with a little bit of water, and then the intensive booster and mixed it up to create a thick paste.  I applied it to the face and everything was going well.  It was drying perfectly and I then did something really stupid.  While it dried and firmed on my face, I extended my face and stretched it out, creating the mask to crack all over.  It stayed put, but the process of peeling the mask off did not go too well.  It turned out to be a tad messy actually.  I did like how the product made my face feel once I rinsed the residue off.  It made it feel very soft and smooth, and I plan on trying it again, without making funny faces and creating a mess!

Well that sure is a mouthful, isn't it?  After I did the skin perfecting mask, as I rinsed the excess product, I used this exfoliator.  This product apparently uses natural enzymes and volcanic micro-minerals to clean the skin without irritation.  It did really make my face feel nice and smooth and I did enjoy how my face felt so fresh afterward.  I still have the CellCeuticals Moisturizer that I got in my June 2012 Beauty Army Kit, so I can really go all out and use both for ultimate smooth skin!
I can’t say I noticed a difference when I was using this product.  Although I mentioned in the beginning, I didn’t test it long term, I just didn’t feel like it did anything for me.  This product is supposed to clear tired eyes instantly and energize wrinkle reducing activity.  Lately, I have very sensitive eyes, and this did burn them a bit.  Furthermore, I didn't see any difference in the appearance and feel of my lips.  I am sure this product works for some, but I wasn't crazy about it.
Jeez, another loooong name for another Beauty Army Kit product!  I don’t use much aging cream yet, due to the fact that I am not showing signs of aging.  I know that it is probably wise to start in order to avoid future wrinkles and ages spots but I am not into using them quite yet. I did, however, like this product and it seemed to get rave reviews on the Beauty Army website.  This product uses a hard core (yes...hard core) anti-aging system of antioxidants to improve dull skin. It consists of organic oils that nourish the skin and pure juices to hydrate.  I love the tiny Vita Burst Beads, as it is infused with Vitamin E to make my skin glow and feel fresh!

I love when I get Indie Lee products, as I am a fan of her products.  I heard of Indie Lee through Beauty Army and if there is an Indie Lee product as one of my selections, I am sure to grab it.  What I love about this is it is a Lavender oil and lavender has a great reputation for health benefits.  This product hydrates and softens your skin without making your skin feel too oily.  I absolutely love the smell of it!  Some lavender oils can be very strong, but this one is subtle enough and it has a relaxing effect on me.  It sort of reminds me of when I am in a spa, and who doesn't love that?

This product has pretty great reviews, so I was really expecting to like it and I did!  This is a matte foundation primer and an anti-acne treatment gel (2 in 1...YES!!!).  It went on beautifully and made applying my liquid foundation nice and simple.  At first, when I applied it, I thought it was going to irritate a popped pimple that I have on my forehead.  It seemed to burn a bit at first, but it subsided.  All in all, my makeup is staying in pace and I am enjoying this product.
I can’t say that I was freaking out about this month’s products, but I still enjoy receiving my kit.  The first few months, I was really intrigued with my selections, but I guess I haven’t been having much luck with it lately.  I am still going to stick with it, because I love my beauty subscriptions and I converse with Beauty Army on a regular basis via-Twitter & Facebook.  I would love to see more cosmetics!  A few months ago I got a NYX mascara and I was psyched!  Hopefully I will get more selections that will blow me away!

Are you a Beauty Army Subscriber?  If not, do you want to be?
Do you have any beauty box subscriptions?  If so, which one(s)?
