Once again, I have had the pleasure of working closely with SFR Beauty, an online beauty company operating out of San Francisco, California. SFR Beauty sells a range of products from skin care to body and hair products internationally. I did two guest reviews for them in the past, but this time I get to share what I think about these products on my blog. Please check out my guest reviews "Indulge in Hawaiian Beauty Products" and "Forever Young With the Secret of the Himalayan Sugar Scrub" on the SFR Beauty Blog.
I love trying different skin care products. For some reason, I always doubt my skin care routine and constantly change it up. I am not sure how good that is for my skin, but with so many products out there, its so hard not to try new things. This time around, I tried a few products from MoonEssence, an all natural and organic skin care, hair care and mineral makeup line. I will admit, I have never heard of this brand before SFR Beauty told me about it, but I was happy to give it a shot because I in the end, l pleased with all the products.
I have NEVER tried a mask quite like MoonEssence Hydrating Rose Clay Masque before and I'm going to be honest...it was kind of awesome! I used masks before but none that had a powder and water base that turns into a clay. When I saw the powdered texture I was immediately intrigued because I don't recall seeing many products like this in stores. This product is great for all skin types. The best part is it contains rose petals, whose antiseptic properties destroy bacteria preventing acne breakouts.
The instructions say to take a teaspoon of powder and add water. Stir the mixture until it is a muddy texture and then apply to the face.
WARNING: This CAN and WILL get messy and you will look a little creepy! I think I scared my husband when I walked into the room with a muddy face and shower cap. I know...SEXY - - - Don't try and visualize that!!! After you let it sit for a little bit, the liquid starts to dry firmly on your face and the color gets significantly lighter. I kept it on my face for about 15 minutes and it made my skin feel very tightened, but certainly not in a bad way! I actually really liked the sensation...it felt like it was working.
Left - Wet Mask / Right Dry Mask
It took alot of guts for me to post those pictures, but hey, I have to give you a good review right? I do it for my readers! Once I washed my face off with warm water, my skin felt great! It felt smooth and healthy and it didn't make my face look red and blotchy.
After rinsing the mask off, I follow it with the MoonEssence Clarifying Facial Cleanser. This product is 81% organic with natural ingredients to give a cool and calming effect to the skin. Furthermore, this product is supposed to reduce acne and moisturize skin...and it certainly did. I have mentioned this before, but I get acne breakouts on my forehead all the time. I have had it since high school and it always decides to show up again unexpected. I'm sure that many of you can relate to this...its super frustrating right? This product worked almost instantly and my forehead cleared up right away. I really should have taken a before and after shot, but my camera is not great and wouldn't really show the difference in skin texutre. Sure, of course I still get pimples...I have been getting them on my chin lately, probably from stress and hormones, but it is not as bad as it could be and I attribute that to this product!
Finally, once my face is clean and dry, I top it of with some MoonEssence Renew Night Cream. This nourishing night cream is filled with antioxidants and organic olive oil that helps renew your skin, leaving it clear and glowing. This product works really well. I like the way my face feels as it does not feel greasy. The one downside to this product is the smell. I can't really explain it, but I don't like it. The aroma goes away after awhile and I don't smell it once it's absorbed into the face, but initially it is quite potent. Other than that, I like the product and it has not stopped me from using it.
I really enjoyed trying out these products as it makes my face feel nice and clean. I do the mask, at most, twice a week, and use the cleanser and moisturizer at night and Ecogenics products for my morning routine. Curious about Ecogenics? Next week, I will be posting a review about it, so STAY TUNED!!! If you are interested in purchasing MoonEssence products, please check out SFR Beauty's Online Catalog.

DeleteI love MoonEssence's products, they are absolutely amazing. The one thing I would like to tell your audience about their mask's is that their Aesthetician using full fat plain yogurt (rich in lactic acid) in the mixing of mask instead of water and my skin feels like a baby's bumm afterwards. Amazing....
