While chatting with my fellow beauty blogger, @aprileesawesome of the blog, Beautiful You, on Twitter about two weeks ago, the subject of dry skin came up. In one of my posts, I mentioned that I have dry skin around the corners of my nose, so bad to the point where it is noticeable and flaky. I know, it sounds totally gross, and it bothers me because I can do awesome makeup looks, and this skin issue downplays the look. She recommended Aquaphor, and says it "has been a god sent." Because of incredible social media monitoring, @AquaphorUS saw our conversation and asked if they can send me some products that can help my skin dryness. I was super excited because it was the first company that offered to send me products to try and I was completely psyched! I sent them my information immediately, as I was eager to try something new to help my skin. Here is what I think.
I have tried EVERYTHING to help the dryness around the corners of my nose. I have attempted various moisturizers, exfoliators and ointments. I even did my research online to see what I can do to help my situation. I tried some of the online suggestions, but stopped looking when some websites said it was simply "dry skin" or something "more serious" like a skin disease or even cancer. I knew it wasn't something nearly that bad, but I gave up and just moisturized as much as I could.
When Aquaphor sent me the products I tried them out that day! They sent me Aquaphor Healing Ointment Advanced Therapy and Aquaphor Lip Repair. Before I even tried it, I tweeted about my little care package and April said:
I had a feeling I was going to love it after that!
After using Aquaphor Advanced Therapy in the corners of my nose for ALMOST a week, I have to say, it has made a significant difference and my dryness is almost non-existent. It is not completely gone...YET...but it is on its way and I couldn't be happier! Finally my makeup doesn't cake up around my nose and its not all red and flaky! This product has a very pasty, jellylike consistency and is fragrance and preservative free. It is also recommended by most dermatologists and pediatricians and is perfect for dry and irritated skin.
And the Lip Repair....OMG THE LIP REPAIR is INCREDIBLE!!! My lips have been SUPER DUPER SMOOTH (yes...it called for a "super duper") and my lips have not been peeling throughout the day after wearing lipstick long term! I put it on after I exfoliate my lips twice a week, before bed and as I am doing my makeup to provide moisture before putting on my lip color. IT'S AMAZING!!! And I did not know this, but Eucerin and Aquaphor are the same company...so I can see why I love Aquaphor so much because I just started using Eucerin Daily Moisturizer a few weeks ago and I love it!
You can find Aquaphor at your local drugstore. For the Aquaphor Advanced Therapy it is $5.99 and the Aquaphor Lip Repair is $4.99. Reasonable price for a quality product. The Aquaphor Website says "skin therapy that works wonders." I have to say first hand...it certainly does!!!
Have you tried Aquaphor???
What are your thoughts???
To wrap up this review, just want to set the record straight and give you a little addition to my disclaimer, as I have not added it just yet to my already existing one. As my blogging is becoming more successful I am extremely honored because companies are starting to contact me to try out some new products. Although these companies are kind enough to do this and I am grateful to them for sending me stuff, it does not affect my opinion of the product. My goal as a blogger is to give honest reviews to my readers, as I want to lead them in the right direction when it comes to shopping for cosmetics and products that can help them with certain skin issues, such as dry skin. As someone who works hard for their money, I take into consideration those who do the same and don't want to go out and waste it on products that don't work. Bottom line, if a company sends me a product and I don't like it, I won't review it because I certainly wouldn't want to blow my money away on something someone gave positive reviews to and I do not want you guys to do the same! All products work differently on everyone and each of you have your own opinion, so if I review a product and it does not work the same on you than it did on me, that is absolutely normal. I apologize in advance for reviewing products that you may not like. I hope that if you do like my review and decide to check it out, that it does work...I love to see my fellow bloggers and followers happy! Okay...I'm done being so stern and serious....I hope you enjoyed my review :)
