I want to have a little fun again and get a little more interactive with my fellow bloggers. As you know, I did a "Where Are My Fellow Beauty Bloggers At???" post a few weeks ago, and it was quite successful. I love speaking with all you guys and want to have more discussions moving forward! This time, I want to know how you came up with the name for your blog! There are many unique names out there and some of us, like myself, may wonder, "how did they come up with that??" In the comments below, please tell me and others how you got your name and BE SURE TO INCLUDE THE LINK TO YOUR BLOG!!!!

STEP BROTHERS
Yes...I know...quite interesting to say the least! If you have seen the movie, you may know what scene I am going to be referring to. There is a part where Will Farrell and John C. Reilly are in a job interview, and as Will Farrell is talking, John C. Reilly comes out from behind him and says "Hello Miss Lady" to the woman who is conducting the interview. My sister and I ALWAYS say Hello Miss Lady to eachother as a joke and laugh everytime! When I was thinking about starting up a blog, all types of blog names ran through my head, but I wanted something unique! After hours of pondering, I randomly started saying "Hello Miss Lady" and then it clicked and HELLO MISS NIKI WAS BORN!!!
And there you have it! I have an interesting sense of humor to say the least! While some of you may not have as crazy as a story as this one, I want to hear it!

I always wonder where people got their blog names from! Mine was pretty simple to be honest - I got a puppy (Willow) just as I set up my blog. I love tea (like most people say) but so does Willow! She gets a cup of tea with me now so thought Tea with Willow was very appropriate :) x

ReplyDeleteMy blog, Strawberree Swing, is named after the Cold Play song. It is my fiance (Bradlee) and I's song and it means alot to me. "StrawberrySwing" was already taken on blogger, so I went with the double E (ee) at the end instead because that is how Bradlee spells his name :)

DeleteI got mine from my drag queen friends. Everytime we hung out I would hear " Oh Brie Baby your makeup is FIERCE." lol so that donned the Briexbabyy part. Eventually They let me do their makeup which I was STOKED for. Once he saw my makeup collection he started calling me a makeup fiend. So it inspired "Confessions Of A Makeup Fiend.

Sounds like a story to me! During this part of your life, you looked for an outlet and blogging was it! You took a situation of yours that had the potential of being negative and turned it into a positive to help you and other people who were also unemployed but love beauty and cosmetics! i think its a wonderful story!

DeleteIt took me a long time to finally settle on the name I have now for my blog Beauty Flawed. It kinda was a cross between a bad math equation and the opposite of perfection if that makes sense.. and then at the same time I wanted it to be easily identifiable as a beauty blog so I threw beauty in front and have been blogging ever since.

DeleteI cam up with my blog name from a shopping trip to Sephora. Sephora and other cosmetic brands sell what they call "Beauty in a Box" where you can can a few items in the said Beauty Box. So, I thought it was kind of cute to say Tristan's Beauty Box! My blog/website is my box full of makeup and hair stuff! I just liked the way it sounded and I think it is pretty unique as I have not come across any other name like it. So I use @TBeautyBox as my handle on Twitter and other social media places. And I also use Tristan's Beauty Box as my official company name. I take clients for hair and makeup and my business cards have my company/blog name one them too. Kind of fun!!

I chose the name "creature of design" for my blog because I needed something that would cover my interests in beauty, fashion, shoes, jewelry, art, etc. Finally I realized that what they all had in common was a designed element, a deliberate aesthetic. Some people are creatures of habit. I'm a creature of design!

Also i didnt want to use specific words like "makeup" in my title because i did not want to limit myself to just makeup.
I wanted to do everything beauty related, and All Things Beauty was born! :P

DeleteMy story is not that exciting! lol I when I decided to start a beauty blog, I went through a lot of names in my head, but the one that stood out to be was "Hello Beautiful", because wether we're wearing makeup or not, we want to feel beautiful, and every time someone goes to my blog, they are greeted with a positive "hello beautiful" and I hope it lifts some spirits!

ReplyDeleteAmandalandish stems from the fact that I've been told I live in Amandaland, a world that functions in the particular way I see things. So of course, Amandalandish is the resident language. I don't like puns, so when I was creating my blog, I couldn't stomach making a name that was a riff off of polish or nails. I figured Amandalandish suited well :)

ReplyDeleteI really wanted something catchy, that I thought would stick in someones mind, and I wanted people to know what my blog was about by looking at the name. Hence the 'Blush' part, since it's a beauty product. The 'Bug' part came out of no where, I just that it sounded good. :)

DeleteStepBrothers is seriously the FUNNIEST movie EVER! My hubby and I always say "Hello Misssss Lady!" as well as "Is it Pammm or Pann" LMAO! I'm laughing just thinking about it! I got my blog name: mCubed Makeup because my initials are MM...once I got married, I hypenated my maiden and married name so now my intials are MMM - mCubed :) I'm a freelance makeup artist so I just used my business name for my blog!! :)

I had many ideas but all of them were taken :(
The first one that wasn't taken was Diana's Make up World. It is not the most original name, but now that I had it for a while I am very happy with it.
It describes exactly what the blog is supposed to be about: my personal space where I'm talking (obsessively) about make up.

ReplyDeleteWhen I started my blog, I had many names in my mind But unfortunately was taken by some bloggers.
At the moment, I was watching The Powerpuff Girls cartoon on Cartoon Network with my little sister where the narrator says, 'Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice. This are the ingredients to make the prefect little girls'.
Then the name was set. It took me several hours to modified the name.
I'm happy with the name, as my blog is all about beauty. It doesn't have to be professional, as long the message in my blog reaches people who read it.
